Xiaomi Cyberdog is an unreviled quadrupedal Robot . It is an open source machine that the firm says "holds unforetold possibilities" . This CyberDog invention embraces the companies with the fact that they have found the quadrupedal form in robotics . Actually it is not clear that what is the purpose of CyberDog . In a press release , the company has stressed that the open-source nature of the machine's designs and this CyberDog it will release only 1000 units initially only for Xiaomi Fans , engineers and robotic enthusiastis and the company says that the first users will imple the development and potential of quadruped robot . The robot will cost 9,999 Yuan , only for the first 1,000 units or roughly $1,540 and this prices is not yet confirmed .
The company also says that this CyberDog's are pet-like nature . This aslo acts like a real dog which will response to the owner's voice or commands . Even though after looking at the pictures of CyberDog it's clear that Xiaomi is pitching a machine as to equalize with Aibo , Sony's robot canine . CyberDog is sleek and futuristic and little menacing but Aibo Sony's robot canine is small and it's cute . This CyberDog looks like a protagonist in a TV show comparing to Aibo robot canine . The CyberDog's "Metalhead" will always remain as they are . Xiaomi's CyberDogs can perform back flips and has a maximum payload of 3Kg . It also can walk at a speed of 3.2m/s like a horse ( compared to Spot's 1.6m/s ) . Xiaomi's CyberDog is powered by Nvidia's Jetson Xavier Al platform and it is equipped with an array of sensors and cameras . This CyberDog include touch sensors , GPS module , an ultra-wide_angle fisheve lens and Intel's RealSense D450 camera depth-sensing . These features allows the robot to navigate semi autonomously .
Xiaomi's CyberDog can also predict the obtracles and create navigational maps , plot it's destination and also find the surroundings real time . It also has a feature like a smart phone has face recognition tracking . CyberDogs is capable of following its owners like a normal dog does . These CyberDogs are easy to control . They can follow the owner's voice commands and instructions . They can also be controlled by using a connected smart phone app . To customize CyberDog's hardware ut had a USB-C ports and one HDMI port , says Xiaomi . The lidar sensors , panoramis Cameras and search lights could all be added to the robot , suggests the company . The release of this CyberDog is very interesting , though it's not necessarily as a product in its own right . Instead , it says a lot about the current Robotics of landscape and importance and accessibility of this tech .
The world are now exploring exactly when and where to develop such machines effectively by Boston Dynamics quadrupedal format for robots . The price of this hard ware is falling , though allowing for new use-case to be explored . At the beginning of this year Chinese robotics firm released a quadrupedal bot which cost just $2,700 , and now Xiaomi's CyberDog undercuts that again . Evidently , the capability of these robots will not be identical , but wider access to the technology will show wheather it's worth these firms pursuing at all .
